Cleft sentence - It has been three years since we last ...

1. It has been three years since we last spent the holiday in the country together.

Can this sentence be changed into a cleft one as:

2. It is three years that it has been since we last spent the holiday in the country together.

I have never read of such a sentence, but I want to be confirmed whether sentence 2 is grammatically correct.

Thank you.

Surely the first sentence is cleft already?
    1. It has been three years since we last spent the holiday in the country together.
    Uncleaving:
We last spent a holiday in the country together three years ago.
