Close to home

I am trying to translate the expression "bring sth close to home" as in :

I just explained something complicated to someone who might not understand it, so then I say :
"I want to / Let me bring this close to home for you"..
And then explain it in a down-to-earth fashion.

How would you say this in French?
Thanks !

    Welcome to the forum.

I guess "je te donne un exemple / une explication assez facile à comprendre" isn't the most colourful equivalent out there.

Ditto for "je te donne un exemple / une explication qui te concerne directement".

    Hi, thanks !
Finally, I chose to put it this way :

"Je veux vous mettre dans un contexte plus humain"
or "Je vais vous le mettre dans un contexte plus proche"

    What d'you think?

I think your translations sound like complete nonsense and that you should use one of the examples given by cropje
