Hi

When using the word "coach" with a description of the content of the coaching, is the preposition "on" appropriate? if not, what is the correct preposition. Example: The principal was coaching the new teacher on behavior-intervention skills.

    I'd be inclined to use "in" rather than "on" but I wouldn't say "on" was wrong.

    That's because I would say teaching in and not teaching on, and tutoring in and not tutoring on.
