English base cock and bull story

I want to pass this on. A newbie posted it in a random EO thread:

This is my first post on Word Reference forums, and I see that everything here dates from 2011 (!), but I would just like to say that as I was looking for WR's translation of "cock-and-bull story" in French, I noticed that the English definition begins with "UK". The expression is widely used in the US, too, or at least it used to be.

I agree with them.

(I'll let them know how to make such suggestions in the future.)
