Colorless green ideas sleep furiously

Hi all

As a fun exercise I thought it would be interesting to try to translate the quote "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously" into Arabic. Obviously the sentence makes no sense logically, but it is grammatically correct. So the point is to render it into Arabic grammatically even though it will not make sense.

Here is my attempt:
تنام الفِكَر الخضراء العديمة اللون بعنف.


Any suggestions, corrections, etc. are welcome.

تموت الأفكار الغضة الباهتة سريعاً

In our Badawi daily life, we often use the word"green" أخضرto refer to something is still wet or juicy.
نشف الثوب والا باقي أخضر
Literally, Did the thobe dry or still green?
Did the thobe dry or still wet?

هو الغصن ذا يابس ولا غض
Is this bough dry or juicy(green)?
This is why replaced "green"with"juicy"

باهت it refers to something of color either it faded away or colorless

I actually originally had أفكار, but then was stricken by a case of uncertainty and thought that may only refer to 'thoughts' (ideas are thoughts of course), not ideas and so looked up the plural again and found the word فِكَر, which of course I had never heard before. I should have stuck with my original intuition.

Yes, I like this saying because it seems nonsensical, and makes you want to look up the story behind it. We get so few chances to be silly in the forum and so I thought I would make my signature a little bit silly, as well as some of the things I wrote on my profile page.
