Dear Teachers,
Good morning.
I think a comma is grammatically necessary just after 'hello' and 'hi' in the sentences below. Right? But these days it is usually omitted. How technically correct and acceptable is it to omit the comma in very formal English, say in a schoolbook?

1. Andrew: Hello, Royna! This is Andrew from XXX Investigation Agency.
xx Royna: Hello, Anderw! How may I help you?

2.Maria: Hello, Donny!
xDonny: Hi, Maria!

Thank you very much.

    Hi, Englishmypassion!

    Not at all.

(Note that I still ALWAYS use a comma, even in informal messages, e-mails, etc.,
but I realize I'm probably in the minority these days. :()
