Are these commas necessary here?

The company provides freight services but, (is this comma necessary here?) as a the carrier division, (is this comma necessary here?) it also operates as carrier.

    Please be aware that the punctuation of the sentence you have is correct / formal, but many people will punctuate it this way (which is more conversational):

    The company provides freight services, but as a the carrier division, it also operates as carrier.
