  • I think it makes sense without one. Although it doesn't apply here, I'm generally in favour of keeping the total number of commas in a sentence as low as possible. I fail miserably, but I still consider it a good point of style. Once you get beyond three, for instance if you're using a couple of sets of parenthetical commas, it can make it very hard for the reader.

    In this case, I think it's a clear case of the sentence being right without the comma.
