comma with absolute construction: Eyes wide open, she stares at...

Eyes wide open, Christina stares at something through the windshield.

I believe there is a pass after the phrase 'Eyes wide open', so I think the comma is required. Is it correct?

    Yes, use a comma. Sometimes they're optional but in this case I think it's needed.
