comma with 'at least': For these, at least, the lake...

I have always had trouble with punctuation.
Will "at least" be separated by commas in a sentence like:
For these people, at least, the lake is more than just an object of worship?

Yes, both commas are necessary.

I usually separate it like that but I'm sure there will be some who disagree! At least, that's what usually happens.

No, we mean that , if not for anybody else than at least for the inhabitans of the lake shores.

Setwale_Charm ... If this was not a typo on your part, then I hope you won't mind if I point out that it should be then and not than. (Even native speakers sometimes confuse the two).

Thanks, it was a typo. I have been sleeping 2-3 hours a day recently so this is the least of the masterpieces that my keyboard has produced. I have been typing things like "traffic gem" and "upsession".
