From a kid's story:

The wagon rumbles its way down an old street until Sarah calls out, "Stop, Freddy! This house looks so scary. What is it?"

Do I use "Stop Freddy!"
or "Stop, Freddy!"?

  • "Stop, Freddy!"
The comma shows you are telling Freddy to do stop rather than telling someone to stop him (without the comma)
