    It means to be without any direction or focus -- at least in Uruguay.

    We wouldn´t say ¨...love disappointment she suffered...¨
    Here are a couple of options for you.
    "After being disappointed in love , she was completely at loose ends."
    "After being disappointed in love , she didn´t know what to do with herself.."

    With Mr. Dent's improvement to the first part, I think El Gaucho's second part also sounds good, although somewhat high in register (something that would be more likely to be read than heard in speech).
