complicity in money laundering worth 1.77 billion euros

    I hate to argue with the Associated Press, but I wouldn't say it that way. Romania is not on the euro yet, correct? I think the author is bending himself in circles a bit to try to express the value of the money without using the leu.

    I think it would have been better to say "complicity in laundering money valued at 1.77 billion euros." The original almost sounds like it's saying the complicity was worth that much.
