compromise food safety?

New Member
Some people have suggested that farming techniques such as these compromise food safety and could have an adverse effect on humans.

(from page 67)

In the above, what does 'compromise' mean in the context? How can I interprete correctly?

please answer me.

I think you can use the third verb definition in the WR dictionary: compromise: bring into disrepute or danger by indiscreet or reckless behaviour.

The contention is that these farming techniques will have an adverse (bad) effect on food safety, allowing food to get through the system that may harm people who eat it.
