Hello everybody,

I´m not sure in which cases you use "betray". I´m aware than "con" refers to any kind of financial stuff, so if somebody acquires money by dubious means while "cheat" is used for (card) games and adulterers.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Betray is most often used to emphasize abuse of a trusting relationship. It has other meanings as well, as any dictionary will show.

Con implies intentional deception. Cheat points to violation of agreed rules or standards of conduct.
