conciergerie

Hi,

I'm translating a document (French to English) about a Jewish family who escapes from the ghetto in Nazi Poland using the sewer system under the streets. The sewage workers let the family rest in a "conciergerie" which the author has told me represents a room at the entrance of the sewage workers' building where the workers would leave their tools and also sit down and have a coffee between shifts. I don't think it's exactly a store room, nor a break room. Any insight would be helpful!

Thanks.
