condition of an instrument

Hello,

Can I use the word condition about a pipe organ?

Context
After for more than 120 years of operation, its condition was causing concern and extensive restoration was required.

Any help appreciated

Sounds okay to me. You could also say "its poor state of repair" or "it had deteriorated to a point at which extensive restoration was required."

To keep the exact form of your sentence intact, you could replace condition with dilapidated state.

    Considition
is fine, but it only infers a problem there is a problem. Dilapidated state exactly defines the problem.
