Confuso y Confundido

Estoy un poco confundido ;) por estas palabras.

It does not seem that in Spanish it is as simple as the English way of just saying "I am confused." :D
I always thought a good way of expressing that idea was "estoy confundido(a)" but I have seen some foreros here say "estoy confuso(a)."
Which is more correct, or is there a slight difference in meaning?

Also, while we are on this subject, what is a good way to use "confuse" as a verb?
Like, for example, the simple phrase "that confuses me."
Could you say "eso me confunde"? Or is there some better way to say that or a way with a slightly different meaning?

    Thought "confuso and confundido" seems similar, from my point of view in spanish we use this words in diferent situations e.j:

    When somethings looks complicated we get use to say "esto es confuso" but when something make us feel confused we get use to say "eso me confunde" (that means tu estas confundido) . I've never heard someone saying "estoy confuso" it dosen't make sense for me.

    Any way, lets see what other people think?

    The verb confundir has two participles, one regular, confundido, the other irregular, confuso.
    In certain cases either one may be used:

    Se muestra algo confuso debido a la medicación.
    Se muestra algo confundido debido a la medicación.



    To form the composed tenses confundido must be used:

    He confundido la etiqueta de los productos.
    (ella) Me había confundido con mi hermano.
    En los ejercicios han confundido as y like.


    As a complement confuso is more frequent.


    La situación era confusa.
    Se escucharon gritos confusos.

    but

    Estoy confundido, estoy algo confuso both are possible.



    I guess after this explanation you will be more confundido than before.:D

    you can use "estoy confundido" when you want to express an emotion or perception of something.
    "Confuso" is mostly used as an adjective, "es un tema confuso", por ejemplo.
    I am almost sure that "estoy confuso" is a bad use of spanish.

    Entonces, "confuso" es "confusing". You can be "confundido", and you
    can't be confusing (confuso )

    I am confused = estoy confundido(a) = estoy confuso
    However,
    Confuso es un adjetivo
    confundido es una forma verbal (a verb conjugated in some time)

    That confuses me = eso me confunde
    Ese explicacion es confusa = that explanation is confusing.
    Ella está confundida = she is confused
    Nos confundimos = we got confused
    Me confundí = I got confused
    Confudí a Luisa con su hermana = I mistook Luisa for her sister

    note: underlined words are verb forms

    Hay tres formas de confundir:

    1 to confuse [con, with]: lo confundo con tu hermano, I am confusing him with your brother
    2 (embarullar a alguien) to mislead
    3 (turbar) to confound

    Gracias, colombo, para la aclaracion! Entonces me pregunto como saber la diferencia entre "She is confused" y "She is confusing" --> "Ella esta confundida." que no tiene nada que ver uno con el otro en ingles. Seria por el contexto, no?

    Entiendo esto así, y ojalá que ya haya aprendido algo con este hilo.

    Cuando algo o alguien "están confusos" es porque tienen en sí la característica de causar confusión.

    Cuando "están confundidos" es porque no tienen claridad.

    Da? Nein?
