I'm now translating a Cuban billboard that reads:

"'con la flor de tu sonrisa'
    Consejo Popular Camilo Cienfuegos"

I know Camilo Cienfuegos was a Cuban revolutionary, and he is depicted on the billboard.

What I don't know is how to translate "Consejo Popular" in this context.

    "The Camilo Cienfuegos Public Council"?

Thank you for your time and generosity.

    Hi!
Your translation sounds right to me. Perhaps someone else will have another opinion.

No problem. Also, given that this is Cuba we're talking about, "consejo popular" may very well translate as The People's Council

That is exactly the right translation, aloofsocialite, it gives the meaning of "consejo popular".

Hi, I'm Cuban, and "consejo popular" means a different thing in this context, it isn't about " public council ", I would say that it doesn't have a translation, at least not in a couple words,
