    Hello everyone:

The "consider" appears in texts very often, does “consider” means discuss or describe like the usage in following sentence?

Inthis opening chapter, we considerhow and why all these types of questions have become relevant topsychology’s goals as adiscipline.

The source is from Chapter 1 of the book Psychology and Life(18th Edition) by Richard J.Gerrig Philip G.Zimbardo.
    Thanks in advance

I'd say it means discuss, examine, and contemplate.

I've attended a number of colleges, and taught at three - I think it's one of the most frequently used words in class, maybe too frequently!
