In colloquial speech, is it necessary to use "DE" after contenta:
Mi esfuerzo: Favor de corregirmelo
Estaba muy contenta saber de que existía esa oportunidad.

    You have to be content about [de] something or for (on account of) [por] something.

    Another way to look at your sentence is to remember that the infinitive is the verbal noun in Spanish. If you say "I'm content about something" (Estoy contento de [algo]), the "algo" can be an infinitive.
