This is from a document describing insurance to be taken out to meet the requirements of a lease.

Le contrat suit régulièrement son cours et les primes en sont régulièrement acquittées.

The contract regularly follows its course and the premiums are regularly paid.

"The contract proceeds on a regular basis"? "The contract continues"? None of these make much sense in English.

I understand that the contract gets renewed or extended whenever necessary

I think this "régulièrement" means "conformément à la règle", so I understand the sentence as "The contract is being executed correctly and the premiums are being paid on time."
