friends,

If someone is making/ cooking something for someone, that I have no idea.

(Kindly restructure my question if there are any mistakes in it.)

How can I ask for the information?

Who are you making tea for?
Who are you cooking for?
Who are you boiling water for?

    Welcome to the forum. :)

Under what circumstances would you assume that the person is doing this for someone else rather than himself or herself?

i wanted to know if the framing of my questions are correct.
