'Cornish cream tea' or 'a Cornish cream tea'?

Hello everyone,

A waitress at a cafe says to a customer: "How about a Cornish cream tea?"
I want to say this in reported speech. Here are two suggestions:

A) The waitress recommended a Cornish cream tea.

B) The waitress recommended Cornish cream tea.

Should I use the indefinite article just as it was used in direct speech?
  • natkretep

    Moderato con anima (English Only)
    English (Singapore/UK), basic Chinese
Remember that in reported speech (indirect speech) we generally retain what was said originally and only make adjustments for tense and deictic words (here, today etc).
