In the book "The Code of the Extraordinary Mind", the writer describes his life after graduation saying, "Finally in 2002, after being a couch-crasher for a while, I got
Finally in 2002, after being a couch-crasher for a while, I got my dialing for dollars job selling legal software.."
What's meant by "couch-crasher", couchsurfing?

    Yes. He must have slept on friends’ sofas for a while – presumably until he could afford a place of his own.

    I should have mentioned these informal senses of the verb crash:
    • to sleep.
    • to have a temporary place to sleep or live without payment: He let me crash at his house.
    • to fall asleep: I get home in the evening and I just crash till it's time for dinner.
