What is the meaning of "couch-potato-dom"?

  • Admit it: You’re just about ready to put a gorgeous high-definition monument to couch-potato-dom in your living room. Or maybe it’s time for TV number two, in advance of the impending digitalTV switchover (set to happen in February 2009).

Best Regards

This is another way of saying 'being a coach potato'. A coach potato is a lazy person who likes to watch a lot of telly - lying like a potato on the coach.
Couch-potato-dom is an abstract noun that does not actually exist, it is being used in a humourous way. The author has used the suffix 'dom' that is found in words such as 'freedom' to make one word out of 'being a coach potato'.
    I hope this helps.
