I was just wondering if people in Quebec say coucou for hi there or an informal greeting. What is the Quebec equivalent, or is it same thing?

    Merci en avance:)

Hi, the equivalent would be "allo" for hello or hi.

    Hope it helps

as Lizzie already said, we use "allo" a lot. In European French, they only use it to answer the phone so it makes them smile to hear us use it differently. We don't really say coucou. Only when playing with children maybe.
We also say "salut" or "hey salut" a lot for "hi there".
