I am looking everywhere for an equivalent English word in the Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry for a process called "COULAGE" in French.

It always appears in 3 stages of processes : "Coulage, séchage et candissage"

Sechage = drying
Candissage = crystallizing

so what is coulage??

Please help!!

    Hello, truptee, see le Grand Dictionnaire (link at the top of the forum) for details: it is pouring, casting or molding. Molding seems the most likely, if it is about making pills.

    I have gone thru' each meaning of coulage available in grand dictionnaire.. or elsewhere too.. nothing seems to fit.

    Molding/casting/pouring are not appropriate..

    I too thought of filtration since in this process they are talking about manufacturing Lozenges.. but why doesn't it render any hits on that (filtration) in google? How exactly is 'filtration' linked to 'coulage'...

    I am clueless...

    Hi truptee,

    I've been reading a bit about the process you describe. How would "dissolving" work for coulage?
