counseling with me/ counseling to me?

Senior Member

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am a social worker, and one of my clients visit me to get counseling services.
Today after the counseling session, she said that counseling with/to me helps to improve her mood.

Which one should I use in the sentence?

Please, give me some advice.

Thank you again.

You counsel her. She is counseled by you. You give her counseling. She gets counseling from you.

It isn't an equal interaction ("with"). One person is the counselor. The other person is the counselee.
