Can anyone tell me what un couple de serrage is (in an aeronautical context). Cheers, Matt
I think it is screw torque, to be confirmed.
could it be something like tightening (or clamping, maybe) torque?
thanks, it's got to be something like that. any ideas on Clé à pipe débouchée ? it's a test translation and I know v.little about mechanical things!
Can I introduce you to the delights of the Grand dictionnaire terminologique? Probably not, because I'm not up to 30 posts yet, I think, but if you Google on it you'll find the site, and there's a definition in there.
Clé à pipe débouchée ( ou débouchante)= angled open socket wrench
Thanks for the dictionary link, Alison, that is useful. Just one more question if I may. "Bloc regulateur", which wasn't there.
Glad to help, since I already mentioned this very good site!
Sorry, didn't realise this had been updated. TERMIUM (which you have to buy!) has "engine fuel control unit" for "bloc régulateur du réacteur" - don't know if that's any help. Without any context, it's difficult to be precise.
Separate names with a comma.
