Cover letter: writing the date

Hello!
I have a problem and I was wondering if you could help me.
I have to write a cover letter for homework. And I have to say when and where I read the article advertising for the position.
Now, the newspaper is the Buenos Aires Herald and the date August 6, 2006.
How should I write it?
... advertised in the Buenos Aires Herald on August 6....
That's my try but I'm not sure. I have a problem with in/on and dates. (They hate me and I hate them).
Please correct my sentence!
Thanks!

Alicky, if you're writing a date you say 'On August 6th...'
If you refer to the month you say 'In August...'
    I hope this helps

So, I was right no? It should be "bla bla bla Herald ON August 6"
Thank you Cecivit! Thank you very much!
ps: 6th en vez de 6 no? Juro que soy capaz de leer y entender fisica nuclear en ingles (ok, exageré un poco ahí) pero no me pidas que sepa hacer algo tan basico como escribir una fecha.....

Yes, Alicky, you were right. It's ON August the 6th (sixth).
Prepositions are an obstacle!! But one you can overcome!
    Good Luck!!

    Hola,

En las fechas no va el "th" (o "st" "nd", o "rd").

Si quieres decir "el 6 de agosto del 2006", "on August 6, 2006"

    Saludos!
