Once again, this is from the list of ingredients on the packaging of a food product.

This clearly refers to the type of cream that is used to make certain desserts.I have a suspicion that in English, we would just say "cream", but am not sure. Anyone know?

"une crème dessert" is a creamy dessert but it usually doesn't contain cream. The best example in France is "danette" made of 80%milk +sugar+chocolate+other things...
I don't know how to translate it in English

Hei! Creme caramel is one type of "creme dessert" and milk pudding is another. Neither contain cream. Bon appetit!
