I'm a music journalist by day, a translator by night. How in the world does one say "critically acclaimed" in Spanish?

As in... "The critically acclaimed eponymous debut by indie-rock newcomers Fleet Foxes."

Sorry for getting carried away with the adjectives and descriptors. We critics can get wordy like that -- tools of the trade.

    Critical acclaim is ok.

    Critically (adjective) acclaimed (participle used as adjective) is wrong, because critically means inclined to judge something severely and find fault.
    Acclaimed is a positive adjective.
    "Critically aclaimed" is an antilogy.

    critically acclaimed is a typical english expression, yo no tengo ningún idea como tranducir esto en castellano pero mi gustaria saberlo

    "Critically acclaimed" is perfectly good English. "Critically" can mean either "in a grave manner" or "as judged by critics" depending on context.
     
    Wow, a lot of semantics bickering going on here, and a lot of lack of understanding of the phrase.

    Whether or not you think the syntax tree holds up in a linguistics class isn't really relevant here.

    The fact is "critically acclaimed" is a very commonly used phrase. You can be annoyed by that, but realize it's an actual phrase in English and that this guy needs help translating it.

    It means "loved/praised by the critics", or people who review/criticize whatever art form is being spoken of. Whether or not that meaning truly derives from all of the constituent parts of the phrase is irrelevant. The guy wants to know if there's a similar expression in use in Spanish that conveys the same idea.

    Personally, I don't know, I'm a native English speaker, but I would appreciate it if someone would actually answer.
