Hello! I am currently reading the book "Ross Poldark" by Winston Graham in Croatian, and came across to this: "Pogledao je u smjele, tamne oči žene koja <-blah blah->". The English version I have says "He stared into the bold dark eyes of a woman who <-blah blah->". "Smjele" seems hence to have to be a declined form of some adjective ("smio"?) meaning bold. I tried to search it from Croatian dictionaries and internet but got no results telling me the basic form it's coming from. HJP just redirects me to verb "smjeti". Can someone tell its basic form and comparative form with accent marks?
