?Como se traduce "exudado" en el siguiente contexto?:
"la profundidad de la ulcera es variable, pudiendo a veces estar cubierta por un exudado"

    For the record, in another medical context, "exudado es cuando te ponen un hisopo en la garganta para ver si tenés estreptococos u otra bacteria" -- so, a throat culture or throat swab.

    Karen, what you quote is known in Spanish as "cultivo de muestra faríngea" or "cultivo de exudado faríngeo" and is not the same as exudate (a fluid rich in protein and cellular elements that oozes out of blood vessels due to inflammation and is deposited in nearby tissues.) In the case you mention a bacterial exudate culture is used to identify germs that may cause infection in the throat.
