Cuciture termosolubili

Hi!

Fashion context, manifacturing of dresses.

How can I say in English "cuciture termosolubili", that is to say stiches made with threads which "disappear" when ironing them?

Thermo-soluble stiches/threads/sutures? Is "thermo-soluble" right?

Thanks in advance

Here is an excerpt from an article on textiles, using the term thermo-soluble:

Jacopo Geraldini of Milan notes that cashmere is inherently expensive and that it is feasible only to spin it to a certain count. However, the inventor says that by combining the fibres with thermo-soluble materials it becomes possible to weave them.

You might want to consider thermo-soluble vanishing stitching.

I have heard of melt-away stabilizers that are used in decorative sewing and perhaps elsewhere. I don't know about seams. Could this be what you're looking for?

Soluble and vanishing together is not a repetition of the same idea?
I have to use a plural... is stiching also a noun (to which I can add "s"). Why not stiches?

My doubt is that if I google my and your suggestions, there are not many results (except for thermo-soluble materials, which can be also plastic...)

I wondered if there are specific words for these kind of stiches or threads. In Italian "fili" or "filati" termosolubili is quite common (when referring to manifacturing)

You can use stitches, if you prefer. Vanishing states that the stitches disappear and thermo-soluble explains how. I personally don't see it as redundant but there is no harm in omitting vanishing.

Uhm, I'm not sure... these ones seem to be used above all for embroidery.
In my text we're talking about stiches/sutures used on a corset to literally sew upon it some plastic things (I have to open an other thread to ask that!).

Maybe - since it does not say anything about what kind of thread it is - they can be plastic threads and therefore thermo-soluble materials (as suggested by the article posted by k_georgiadis) will fit...???
