Hello everyone,

From the book Thank You for Being Late by Thomas Friedman.

In other parts of the world, the United States needs China’s help— for instance, to contain North Korea’s nuclear missile program and pre-vent it from proliferating nuclear materials in the World of Disorder. One could imagine China agreeing to help—but only if the United States cuts Beijing more slack in the South China Sea.

What does "cuts more slack" mean?

Thank you.
