    needle lace: encaje de aguja

    cutwork: trabajo calado

    buttonhole stitch... punto ojal

Sylvia: Do you speak Spanish? If so I have a wonderful article on lace written by a Spanish lady....www.caat.org.ar/docs/tramemos57-historia-del-encaje.pdf

If you can not get the page just go to google and enter historia del encaje and you should get it.

I learned to do trabajo calado at school. Nuns from Spain taught me.

I am sure it is still done in Spain

If you are interested in this type of thing go to google and enter "mundillo" which is bobbin lace. There you will find some examples of mundillo.

    Saludos
