The Welsh name Rhys, to my understanding, comes from the noun rhyswr and means 'hero' or 'champion'.

What would the feminine counterpart for this be, i.e., what is the translation of 'heroine'?

Thanks in advance for your help!

One word for "heroine" is arwraig (feminine equivalent of arwr "hero").
