    Kontext, charming Setwale, kontext!

Česky: Něco je špatně - něco chybí.
Idiomaticky: Něco tady nehraje - něco chybí. (may or may not be accurate, depending on context)
Something went wrong: Něco se nepovedlo - něco chybí.

Slovensky: Niečo je zle - niečo chýba.
Idiomaticky: Niečo tu nehrá - niečo chýba.
Something went wrong: Niečo sa nepodarilo - niečo chýba.

The usual disclaimer applies for Slovak, and I would really like to know what it is about. :)

D`akujem, Jana. I meant to say that "things give an impression/a feeling that something is wrong here", i.e. not the way it should be. For instance, whereas Czech learners of English have problems with articles, English learners of Czech have problems with their absence : we feel that something is wrong, something is missing.

    OK. I would say

(CZ) Něco (mi) tu nesedí, něco chybí. It sounds better with "mi", like "something is irritating me".
(SK) Niečo (mi) tu nesedí, niečo chýba.
