dans la coulée des mains

I'm translating some texts about an artist (the works in question I've never seen). Among these, there is a poem from an unknown (hitherto untranslated) writer.
It starts with the words: "Dans la coulée des mains"
I'm quite sure, this doesn't mean, somebody cut off someone's hands, and melted them in a pot... :)
"The molten form of hands..."?
The context does not help, there's nothing to further describe the hands, that are supposedly seen in the drawing.

Thank you beaucoup !
