Dari: Amir and Hassan, the sultans of Kabul

I'm doing an art project on The Kite Runner, and I want to include the phrase "Amir and Hassan, the sultans of Kabul" somewhere. In the book/film they are speaking Dari, and I assume that when Amir carves this phrase into the tree it's also in Dari. I tried to find a still picture from the film, but there doesn't seem to be one, and since I don't speak/read Dari at all I probably couldn't work it out anyway.

So, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

    Anything for someone from "England's green and pleasant land"!:)

    I presume you would want this phrase to be written out in Dari?

    There are two ways to make the plural for "sultan". The first version is "more" correct, although these days I don't think there is much to choose from.

    Thank you so much! I did want it in Dari, sorry I wasn't very clear about it.

    If it's not too much trouble, could you possibly translate "For you, a thousand times over" into Dari as well please? I didn't really expect anyone to reply (at least not so quickly!), so I'm going to take advantage of that and hope you don't mind ;)

    ( I don't believe there is a necessity for the word "over". I don't think it adds anything substantial to the meaning. What do you think?)

    PS. There is a typing error in the second and fourth line. It should be سلطانهای کابل. Apologies.

    I'm not sure about the "over". I agree with you that it doesn't really add to the meaning...I just wonder why it was written like that in the first place. I found the part of the film where Hassan says it; if you speak Dari as well as being able to read/write it, do you think you could have a listen and see how he says it? I'm not allowed to post links here, but if you copy-and-paste "watch?v=5623AePLp4Y&feature=channel_video_title" after youtube.com the video should come up (if not, the title of the video is "The Kite Runner Part 2/9 (FULL MOVIE)"). It's at 13:09 minutes. I'd be very grateful if you could have a look/listen :)

    I think he says....(I am not a 100% sure).

    برای تو ، هزار دفعه "baraay-i-tu hazaar daf'ah" (For thee, a thousand times!)

    It is said again at the end of the film, "watch?v=FpWU-0SAFww&feature=related" at 12:51. Is that any easier to understand? It sounds to me like that's what he's saying.

    I listened to the clip. It is definitely what Mr. Qureshpor suggested, that is, برای تو، هزار دفعه baraa-ye tu hazaar daf'ah.
