Hello

My students had to write an e-mail in an exam. One student spelled out Mister in the salutation:

Dear Mister Miller

Is it okay to spell out Mr.? I've never seen it that way.

In a very formal letter or invitation, it will always be written out ("Mister").

In ordinary letters it is uncommon. But it is not incorrect.

I don't think I have ever seen the title 'Mr' written out before the name. Mind, my husband and I have never been invited anywhere by the Queen or the Lord Mayor. If 'Mr' were written out, wouldn't the female titles have to be written out too?
