If there were a Latin forum, I would absolutely post there (ETA: WOOOOW there is a Latin forum!. The context: the alum mines on Mount Tolfa in the 1400s.

Ai Medici, "depositari di decti alumi facti e denari che ne proverranno", spettava la commercializzazione di tutta la produzione in forma di monopolio, a loro spese e dietro pagamento di un ducato d’oro ogni cantaro.

The Medici, "depositories of ten alum facti(???) and the money that will flow from it", exercised a pure monopoly over alum production, which they funded themselves. They earned one gold ducat for each cantaro.

No idea how to translate 'decti facti'. Ten... something.

Gratias ago!

Thank you bearded! Sometimes old Italian is indistinguishable from medieval Latin (at least to me). So basically, this is Italianized "dicto" and "factum".
