I received this phrase in a personal letter and am not sure how to translate, especially the words "patio" and "aval" seem to be taking on a different sense than is suggested in my dictionaries.

The larger phrase was:

"Muchas personas y organizaciones son nominadas para obtener dicho diploma y participan, además, músicos profesionales del patio que tienen un aval impresionante en su carrera."

I have translated the rest of the message informally for friends as follows:

"Many persons and organizations are nominated to obtain the said diploma and musical profesionals [qualifiers of which I am not certain] also participate."

I believe the qualifiers indicate "musical profesionals recognized as being distinguished in their careers" but am not certain of the nuances.

"Many people and organizations are nominated to obtain the said diploma and they do participate beside it is an amazing good reference for the professional musicians careers ."

I believe the qualifiers indicate "musical profesionals recognized as being distinguished in their careers" but am not certain of the nuances.
