No you can't say that. I suggest عندما طلبت منه الذهاب مع صديقي جاوَبَني بالرفض or عندما طلبت منه الذهاب مع صديقي رد علي بالرفض

Hello. Just a note about English usage. "Denied" doesn't quite work, here. I believe you meant to say "refused".
You would use the verb "to deny" in the context of a person's response to an allegation against him which he did not admit to. For instance, "John denied that he had stolen the money".
