Could you help me with this sentence? I don't like 'depending on'.
- It's like the axle of a wheel that has much/lots of/ a lot of potential depending on where it is situated.

I wouldn't change it. "Depending on" is correct here.

I agree with Mrbilal87; "depending on" is correct and customary in this sentence. I can't think of any other English collocation that would work as naturally or as well in this sentence.
