Hello there,

Check this dialogue, please.

- Sorry sir, you can not smoke here, but there is a designated area for smokers over there.

Is is natural enough? What about designated area. Do you smoke in\on designated areas? I suppose it is "on", right?

Thank you!

Instead of saying "designated area for smokers", which sounds a bit too personal. You can make the whole sentence more friendly and less personal...

    "designated smoking area"

Excuse me, sir, smoking is not allowed here, but may I invite you to use our designated smoking area over there?

    Hope this helps.

Not to quibble too much, but smokers need not necessarily smoke, but smoking smokers do need an appropriate place to use.
