I'm new to this forum and my wife and I will be taking our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Italy in May.
We were wondering how to say Diane in Italian.
We can not find a translation so we assume it is "Diane" in Italian also.

Any tips about our trip would also help.. Venice, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Isle of Capri

Thanks
Joe

Hi, Joseph, and welcome to the Forum!
Diane is simply Diana, in Italian.
Nice trip indeed! About suggestions, feel free to write a private message...

Diane is simply Diana, in Italian.
Joseph, note that the first syllable in italian is pronounced Dee, unlike the English which has a long i like dye.

lsp is right, though the pronounce "Daiana" is very common too, mainly due to an old song "Diana" and Princess Diana. Oh, I won't forget to mention Diana Ross :D

Years ago I could write the phonetic transcription of words...I forgot everything about it! Where can I find something about it, Silvia? (I know you know it ;))

Io ormai vado a occhio... o dovrei dire a orecchio... ma ti basterebbe comprare uno di quei libricini per stranieri, tipo "Italian phrase-book and pronunciation" della Capitol. Quasi inservibile per i madrelingua inglesi (è organizzato a soggetto), ma chissà, può tornarti utile.

Ho progettato sulla presa del libro avete accennato. Inoltre sto provando ad imparare in linea tanto italiano come io latta prima del nostro viaggio.

the pronunciation, or to pronounce. Surely a matter of your flying fingers on the keyboard. :)
