    Did you find the comic books for that you were looking? This is a sentence I came up with. It's a transformation of Did you find the comic books you were looking for?

    Is the first example sentence correct?

    We don't say "for that", but we might say "for which".

    Did you find the comic books for which you were looking?

    People are less likely to say this than the original version. To most people, "for which" sounds too formal for most contexts.
